If you’re looking to buy a handgun at the Bass Pro Shops in Independence, Missouri, ask for Michael. He is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best possible experience. The entire staff deserves recognition as well. Every employee I interacted with was professional, friendly, and willing to go the extra mile to help me find exactly what I needed. It’s one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had in a retail store. Keep up the great work!

If there were more stars to give, I’d break the star scale doing it. The team at the gun counter inside Bass Pro in Independence, Missouri delivers a level of service that is almost extinct these days, knowledgeable, patient, professional, and genuinely invested in taking care of people the right way. This isn’t just retail… this is craftsmanship in customer service. From the moment you step up to the counter, you’re treated with respect, whether you’re a first-time buyer or someone who’s been around firearms your whole life. The staff doesn’t rush you, doesn’t talk over you, and doesn’t push product. They listen. They ask the right questions. And then they guide you with a level of expertise that makes it clear you’re dealing with people who actually know their trade. Every detail is handled with precision. Safety, legal process, product knowledge, fit, function, you name it. They operate like professionals who take pride in what they do, and it shows in every interaction. You walk away confident, informed, and taken care of. In a world full of mediocre customer service, this crew stands in a league of their own. Absolute top-tier operation. Beautiful taxidermy settings. Great displays of boats, rv's,firearms, camping suppmies, outdoor cooking items, clothing galore. Lots of sales too. One of my favorite places to buy clothing too. Great place to spend a couple of hours just looking around. Kids love it too

Changed from 5 star to 1 star due to the extremely rude staff member at customer service desk. The greeters at the door are ALWAYS fabulous and so nice. Young girl at customer service desk needs training on how to speak to others and how to listen instead of talking over a child trying to speak.

I've never been in a Bass Pro Shop as big and wonderful as this! Amazing two-story store with everything you need for outdoor activities: camping, fishing, hunting, and more. Wonderful place to take you g children because if all the stuffed animals and scenery. Huge aquarium with fish, and pond with real ducks. Very fun!
